Last Friday was held a celebration of Railport Arad. 2nd phase of our intermodal terminal was officially opened and 140 visitors enjoyed the sunset behind the terminal in Curtici and the subsequent party in Arad. We would like to thank to all our esteemed guests for coming and supporting our ideas.

We are proud to announce that 2nd phase of construction works in Railport Arad intermodal terminal in Curtici is nearly completed.

Railport Arad intermodal terminal, part of Curtici Cargo Center, is the biggest and most up to date inland terminal in Romania and also one of the biggest in the Central and Eastern European region. With an initial investment of 11 million EUR, the activity started in 2009. In 2016 the second phase of construction of 7 million EUR was implemented, resulting the following main data:

Shortly before Christmas 2015 we informed that a new mobile gantry crane (RTG) for the Container Terminal RailPort ARAD was delivered as part of the 2nd stage of the development. At that time we published a few photos of the new crane’s parts.
With great pleasure we can now report that the new gantry crane - as seen on the new photos - was mounted. The new RTG will be named WAGNER like the locomotive GySEV. This name emphasizes the merits of our director Istvan Wagner.
We are waiting for more photos of the development progress.

Existing since 1993 Trade Trans Spedition GmbH in Berlin is a specialist in inland shipping and truck transport.
Its fleet consists of owned and chartered barges with an average cargo capacity of 1,000 tons. In the area of short sea shipping it has been working with well-known and powerful ship owners and realizing for its customers door-to-door transport across Europe. The company has been organizing the sea and inland port handling with the focus on Polish harbors.

In mid-July 2015, we informed with a presentation that several investments of the Cargo Center Curtici have been launched, including the expansion up to 13,000 m2 of the concrete surface as a storage area for containers at the intermodal terminal.

On November 10th, 2014 TRADE TRANS and LUKA KOPER signed the purchase agreement to take over 33,33% stocks in company RAILPORT ARAD. Thus TRADE TRANS has currently 2/3 shares and RAIL CARGO HUNGARIA has 1/3 shares. This takeover will allow for the expansion of the container terminal. With an investment of approximately 9 million EUR it will be possible to build 4 additional railway tracks with a length over 650 m. Furthermore, a new container crane will be installed and the concrete surface will be increased by 26.000 m2.
